Quote of the month "
A thousand candles can be lit by a single flame, and it's life will not be shortened, likewise happiness never decreases bybeing shared."
Hello! I thought I might write the first newsletter today since I had to cancel todaydue to all the rain (ok if you fancy mud-wrestling though, we’ve just ‘won’pavers on ebay, so if the weather is kind this weekend there will be a paved area next time, fingers crossed...). And although I had a thought of instead having a nice play-day at home, maybe even do some baking, Niklas decided to have the biggest tantrum-day in his life, so I’m spending some ‘time-out’ time on the computer while slowly counting backwards from ten...!
Can you believe we only have four more play-dates left this term? Is there interestfor having a special play-date for the school holidays, which of course would include bigger school-kid as well? Maybe that would be a good opportunity to have an outing?
Haveyou got your membership card yet? If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so asap. We’ve passed the due date well and truly now, but they still haven’t sent the paper work back to me, so we should be ok. With the membership card you also have access to their toy libraries. Our closest ones are:

Updateon equipment and funds: A few years ago I did run a playgroup with a couple of friends, and there were a bit of money left when the group ceased. I bought some plastic balls, a bit of craft stuff and Easter stuff, just enough to get us going for first term, earlier this year. Of the weekly $2 we all pay I’ve deducted $1 for materials per session (paint, playdough etc, as this has mainly been myown supplies, so in reality I’ve paid $1 every time). I’ve also bought an extra easel ($5 at garage sale) and the little yellow table with two chairs ($1 at garage sale). By my calculations there should then be $26 there now (2.3.10), including any IOU’s. I’m hoping to buy the real paint pots with spill proo flids soon, and also a chocolate egg for each of the children for the last day of term. Other than that I’ll keep hunting for freebies (such as the fort) and cheap stuff (garage sales, ebay etc). Comments and suggestions are as usual very welcome!
Fundraising: Since I bough over 50 balls real cheap on ebay, and that’s more than we need, they can now be bought for $2 (small) and $3 (big) each, which will all go to the group’s funds. So if you want a ball or two for home, let me know. They make popular gifts. Many colours available.
